Fresher
Your first SAP project is nothing like the training
You learned the syntax. Then you got a functional specification for a process nobody explained, in a system with twenty years of decisions in it.
You’re not behind. You’re missing context — a different problem.
Training teaches the language. Projects need the language plus the business process, the landscape and conventions nobody wrote down.
What to focus on first
- Read the FS twice: once for what it says, once for what it assumes
- Learn the business process behind your module, not just the tables
- Ask specificationific questions: quote the section, state both readings
- Read other people's ABAP deliberately
- When a review comment arrives, ask why

FS Analyzer
Break a long specification into the requirement, the gaps and the questions to take to your consultant.
ROB
Ask the question you'd rather not ask out loud a fourth time. ROB has the document loaded.
Questions freshers ask
Yes. Process knowledge is absorbed over years, not taught, so people forget you don't have it yet. Ask specificationifically and write the answers down.
Less than you fear. What's hard early on is knowing which table holds what and what the requirement really means. Syntax gaps close quickly.
Ask more precisely the second time — that makes it a different question. For the ones you'd rather not ask out loud, that's what ROB is for.
Start by understanding the requirement.
Bring the specification you were handed this week.
No SAP connection. No template rewrites.
